5.3-magnitude quake strikes off Bali

A shallow undersea quake with the magnitude of 5.3 jolted Bali island of Indonesia where hundreds of international delegates and world leaders are attending the ASEAN Summit, the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here on Firday.

The quake struck at 19:23 p.m. Jakarta time (1223 GMT) with epicenter at 272 km southwest Nusa Dua of Bali and with the depth at 10 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua.

Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake hit zone, the so called " the Pacific Ring of Fire."
